LOTTE Aluminium Environmental Management Charter

We pursue the sustainable development of humanity and strive to contribute to a prosperous life. Accordingly, we recognize environmental values as a core element of our management activities and, in order to practice environmental management in the course of management activities and business operations, establish this Environmental Management Charter as the standard for proper conduct and value judgment that all employees must observe. This charter is based on the Constitution of the Republic of Korea, the Framework Act on Environmental Policy, the Framework Act on Carbon Neutrality and Green Growth for Climate Crisis Response, as well as domestic laws and international regulations including the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Convention on Biological Diversity. We pledge to faithfully comply with and practice this charter.

우리는 인류의 지속가능발전을 추구하며 풍요로운 삶에 기여하고자 합니다. 이에 우리는 환경적 가치를 경영활동의 핵심적 요소로 인식하고 환경경영을 실천하기 위하여 경영활동 및 사업수행 과정에서, 모든 임직원이 준수하여야 하는 올바른 행동 및 가치 판단의 기준으로서 환경경영 헌장을 제정합니다. 이 헌장은 대한민국 헌법, 환경정책기본법, 기후위기 대응을 위한 탄소중립·녹색성장 기본법을 비롯한 국내 법률 및 UN 기후변화협약, 생물다양성조약을 비롯한 국제 법규에 기초하고 있습니다. 우리는 이 헌장을 성실히 준수하고 실천할 것을 다짐합니다.

We comply with the Constitution of the Republic of Korea and domestic and international environmental laws and regulations, and strive to prevent environmental pollution by establishing and enforcing internal environmental standards stricter than legal requirements.

We establish and implement environmental management systems, including setting goals and action plans and organizing relevant bodies, to realize management that fulfills social and ethical responsibilities (hereinafter "Environmental Management") while conserving resources and energy and minimizing greenhouse gas emissions and environmental pollution.

We strive to minimize harmful environmental impacts by using raw materials with less environmental pollution, improving processes, reducing pollutant emissions through resource conservation and recycling, and minimizing the environmental impact of product use and disposal throughout all business activities.

We actively participate in government and international efforts to curb the rise of global average temperatures, recognizing climate crisis as a common issue for humanity, and strive to implement a carbon-neutral society.

We strive to reduce negative impacts on biodiversity by utilizing components of biodiversity at rates and in ways that do not lead to its decline, recognizing the importance of biodiversity across all business processes.

We strive to enhance stakeholder access to information by periodically and transparently disclosing environmental management performance, including greenhouse gas emissions and reduction results, and sustainable development information.

We strive to achieve win-win growth by establishing and implementing policies to promote environmental management systems at partner companies, including providing information on our environmental management systems and performance.
